You own a blog on Blogger and want to move it to your new blog on WordPress.com? You probably have realized the importance of owning your own domain and become a professional blogger. To move your blog from Blogger to WordPress.com is as easy as alphabetical letters but yet not easy to some people therefore I will guide you step by step on how to move without losing your Google rankings. This process has been made easier for you by WordPress.com and you do not need any IT expertise to move your Blogger to WordPress.com. There are a few advantages of carrying out this procedure.

  1. You will not lose your organic traffic for the Blogger to your new WordPress blog.
  2. You will be able to redirect your Blogger visitors to your new WordPress blog.
  3. You will not lose your subscribers from your Blogger RSS feed.

Step 1

Log in to your Blogger account and click on settings then Other. Once here, you will back up your content using the Back up content button and your posts, pages and comments will be safely backed up to your PC. On the same page you will need to redirect your Post Feed Redirect URL to your new WordPress URL. Add your WordPress URL such as https://probloggerhub.com/ to your post feed redirect and save.

While on your Dashboard you will click on template and scroll down to “Revert to classic Template” This option will help you move from your XML-based Blogger to a classic template. After this process you will need to copy the following code to the template editor which will appear after you have reverted to classic template. After pasting the code below you will need to save your new details. Remember to change https://probloggerhub.com/ in every place that it appears before you copy and paste the code.

Step 2.

The first step is to log in to your WordPress blog, Click on the settings located on My site page, at the top you will see a menu starting with General, writing, Discussion, Analytics and Imports. Here you will be required to click on imports which will take you to the page in the image below.

Since we are moving from Blogger to WordPress you will click on Other Importers which will redirect you to the next image below.

Once you are here you will click on the Blogger option which is at the top and import the file which you saved on your PC. WordPress will take less than 5min to move all your Blogger posts to your new WordPress blog.
