The routine starts when you wake up. You’re ultimately going to shock your body into releasing epinephrine and it starts with breathing. Begin with taking about 30 to 40 deep breaths until you get a light-headed feeling. Following that, exhale all the air in your lungs and hold it for as long as you can. Then suck in a nice breath of air and hold that in as long as you can too. Repeat this until you feel a buzzed feeling in your body. This is when your body is creating more alkaline blood and increasing your tolerance to pain. You will also receive a boost in your metabolism while decreasing inflammation. Once you start feeling good, go and take yourself a cold shower. I know, nobody likes it, but every successful person has a morning ritual.
Once you get your epinephrine going, you will feel ready to go! Your body and mind will be ready to take on your daily activities.
We all know the San Francisco area is crowded when you’re on your way to do the things you do. That’s cool. More people means more friends! It just makes it harder to get your car around let alone trying to park. Meditation has been shown to dramatically reduce stress, maintain focus, and boost compassion among peers. If you have never meditated before, headspace will take care of you through their “meditation basics”. These basics will walk you through a meditation routine. This is a serious life hack to maintain your sanity in such a hard-working city.
